Therapy for identity & Belonging Exploration

Finding a sense of belonging isn’t always or often straightforward. For many people, identity feels (and is) layered and complex shaped by factors such as culture, family, race, adoption, gender, or the experience of living between worlds. You may feel like you don’t fully “fit” anywhere, or that parts of yourself have had to stay hidden or minimized to be accepted. Over time, this can leave you questioning who you are, where you belong, and whether you’re “enough.”

In therapy, we create space to:

  • Explore the identities and experiences that have shaped you

  • Untangle cultural, familial, or societal expectations from your authentic self

  • Heal the pain of feeling like an outsider or “too much”/“not enough”

  • Reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been silenced or pushed aside

  • Build confidence in who you are and how you want to show up in the world

My approach is relational, compassionate, culturally attuned and responsive. I understand the ways identity is not just personal but also deeply relational influenced by family history, cultural expectations, and systems of privilege and oppression. Whether you’re a transracial adoptee, biracial or multiracial individual, or someone navigating multiple communities and identities, therapy can help you feel more grounded and connected to your full self.

Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more at home in your own skin and more confident in your sense of belonging.
